Dreamers and Their Narratives
From November 2020
High above, our dreams fluttered across the skies of revolutions. Or so we thought.
Many of us who took part in or were otherwise moved by the revolutionary wave of uprisings that shook the North Africa and West Asia region from late 2010 through 2011, or the subsequent, more recent wave that has pulsed from 2019 through 2020, became dreamers, at least for a time.
Our dreams changed. And while some latch onto the same dreams at a different time and in new places, others struggle with realizing the extent of these changes in the world around them.
Preserving the memory of our dreams in all of their bittersweetness, is also an attempt to strengthen our physical and mental worlds.
With this in mind, the Storytelling Workshop is around the dreams of Revolution – dreams as both what has disappeared from around us and those which have remained within us. These dreams also include our attempts to live in parallel with our new reality, far from our homelands, where those very dreams were born.
